Slants: How do you relate to your environment?
Right Slant indicates the writer is dominated by his/her emotions. This person responds emotionally to situations and stimuli. This person is intensely friendly, sensitive and affectionate toward others as well as his/her environment.
Straight Up and Down Slant (NO Slant) indicates the writer's head controls his/her heart. This person is independent, detached, cautious. The writer thinks consequence first last and always. This person is cautious in his/her environment; calculating and a strategic thinker.
Left Slant indicates a person who represses real emotional feelings. This writer is evasive, self absorbed, difficult to get along with. Trusts no one but the self. This writer manipulates his/her environment because he/she fears the environment.
Connectedness: How do you relate to others?
From the top down:
The top example, Angles, indicates an aggressive, hard working, competitive, determined individual. This writer imposes his/her will on others and his/her environment.
The second example, Garlands, indicates a friendly, sociable, affectionate, flexible person who communicates easily with others. This writer gets along well with others and adapts easily to his/her environment.
The third example, Arcades, indicates a desire to cover up, formality It shows a concern for control when in fact it is a self protective gesture. This writer is concerned with appearances and tradition, tries to fit in with others and environment out of a need for security.
The final example, Squiggling, indicates a devious, sneaky, evasive person. This writer will conceal things his/her relationships and environment.
Pressure: How much energy does the writer have?
The heavier the pressure, (the thicker the line in this example) that a writer uses, the more energy, stamina and endurance the writer has.
On one extreme is the very light writer who has to pace his or herself and not burn too much energy, always aware of not overdoing things. This writer would tend to use a number 3 pencil or very fine point pen.
On the other extreme we have a person who writes with bold thick strokes. This writer tends to be aggressive, assertive, forceful, sometimes even pugnacious. This writer will impose his/her will upon others. This writer would use a number 1 pencil or a broad tip pen and has an overabundance of energy. The paper upon which this writer writes would appear embossed because of the pressure used in the writing process.
Size: How socially extroverted or introverted are you?
The tiny writer (introverted) holds himself or herself tightly to a limited space. This person works within confined spaces; concentrator, will work for long periods of time alone. Can be very intense. Doesn't like disruptions or to be disturbed.
The medium writer (average) is the norm, not the exception. This person gets along well with others, fits easily into his/her environment Doesn't like to make waves. This is a socially affable person. They get 70% of the world's work done.
The large writer (extrovert)-- these are the leaders. This writer provides direction for others. Will get done what they say they will. These writers are often seen as arrogant because when they say they are going to do something, they do it. Don't tell them they can't, because they will do it just to prove they can and will. Charismatic.
Humor: What does it look like on the page?
These letter forms indicate humor in the writer. The flowing, wavy line coming into the letter indicates a humorous personality. This writer is always handy with a joke and can be counted on to lighten up the environment.
Goals: How do you relate to them?
The left sample shows a person who reaches high. They are enthusiastic for their goals and pursue higher goals than would normally be expected.
The middle sample shows practical goals: these writers will reach only as high as something they know they can accomplish.
The right sample indicates a writer who has a timid personality, a follower; one who looks to others for his/her goals.
Margins: How much room do you need?

The blank page represents your environment. How do you interact with your environment?A page with large margins (left) is abnormal. This writer needs protection all around and does not relate well to others.
A page with average margins (middle) is normal. This writer fits well and is interested and comfortable in his/her environment.
A page with no margins (right) is abnormal. This writer is what I call a "knees and elbows" person. They are always banging into others, have no sense of propriety or other peoples wants needs and desires. They believe everybody else wants what they want.
