About the Tarot
The Tarot is an ancient system of 78 cards made up of two groups: The Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana.
The Major Arcana cards deal with the higher aspects of Self (spirit) - our highest aspirations and goals.
The Minor Arcana cards deal with the day-to-day (mundane) aspects of our lives. They are made up of four suits: Cups, Wands (or Rods), Swords and Pentacles (or coins).
- Cups deal with passion and love.
- Wands (or Rods) deal with imagination and creativity.
- Swords deal with intellect and challenge.
- Pentacles (or coins) deal with wealth, prosperity and productivity.
Historically, Tarot Cards date from the Renaissance. Some scholars believe that the cards are much more ancient.
Tarot cards are used for divination and guidance. Our modern playing cards (52 cards in a deck) derive from the Tarot deck.

Modern Tarot cards come in many styles from the traditional decks to "theme" decks based on mythology and popular legends. There are over 400 different styles of Tarot cards currently available.
Artists like to design Tarot cards because the diversity of the card meanings opens up a wealth of creativity for them. Some decks are highly ornate, others are simple and even abstract.
There are usually only two people involved in a Tarot reading: The Reader (the one skilled at interpreting the cards) and the Seeker (sometimes called Querent) who is seeking guidance and advice. Sometimes a Seeker will ask to have a friend present at a reading. It is up to the Reader to allow this request. A Tarot reading is highly personal and the presence of a third party may be inappropriate.
When Tarot cards are read, they are selected and placed on a table in a pattern called a Spread. The Spread tells a story to the Reader, and the position and name of each card is an important element in the story. The story is always about the Seeker.
There are many spreads a Reader can use, from a simple three card spread to the elaborate full Tarot spread (which uses all 78 cards!). Time with the Seeker often dictates what type of spread a Reader will choose.
Many people believe that the Tarot can be used to predict the future, and many Readers do attempt to use the cards for this purpose. But each Tarot Reader approaches the cards from a different aspect, so there is really no hard and fast rule. It depends on the Reader and the Seeker.
Tarot Readers interpret the cards based on a number of factors; the image on the card, the card's position in a spread, common established card meanings, individual deck designer's suggested meanings and the Reader's intuition.
Psychic View Points Tarot Readings
Psychic Viewpoints Tarot Readers have years of experience with the cards and each Reader uses a unique approach. But we all have one goal in common: to provide the Seeker with the most informative and uplifting experience from a reading.
Our Readers are psychic intuitives, that is they use the cards to intuit via psychic channels information that will help the Seeker. We do not use any magical or hocus-pocus in our readings. Each reading is a perfectly natural human communication, much like talking to an advisor or councilor. The more interactive the Seeker is with the Reader, the more effective will be the reading.
Our Readers use a variety of different style Tarot decks (sometimes within the same reading), and all are chosen for their artistic and informative quality.
Our Readers always seek the most positive and inspiring information from the cards and give the Seeker gentle and sometimes even playful advice based on what the cards indicate. While we take the cards seriously, we also provide an element of fun and discovery in a reading.
We NEVER predict future events or negative experiences. This, we consider an abuse of the Tarot system.
Some of our Readers will provide a Seeker with advice to change or improve his/her life. Others use the cards to provide insight into a Seeker's strengths and aptitudes. Still others combine the two.
When we read for Seekers at a party event, the reading usually lasts about five minutes. But in that time, our Readers pack as much guidance, knowledge and information as possible, giving the Seeker a thought provoking and entertaining experience.
Longer readings may be allowed depending on the number of people waiting and the time our Readers are booked for.
Sometimes a Seeker will ask a Reader to allow a second person to sit in on the reading. Each Reader decides if this is appropriate or not.
Our Readers ALWAYS read about the Seeker. We do not use the cards to read about a third party who is not present for the reading.
